Mohammad Ali: "The Greatest" is dead at 74!

Muhammad Ali, the dearly beloved quick-paced and sharp-tongued boxer, is dead. 'The Greatest', as he called himself- which is what he truly was- died in a Phoenix Hospital on Friday where he was being treated for respiratory complications. Prior to his death, Ali had fought a long- and much publicized- battle with Parkinson's disease; thought to have resulted from the large number of blows he took to his head, during his illustrious career. Ali was not just a boxer; family man; humanitarian and philanthropist;  he was also a civil rights champion, who refused to be inducted into the US Army to join the fight in Vietnam, thus, risking his own personal freedom!

Just as quick with his tongue as he was with his feet (and hands), some of his greatest quotes were: "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. Your hands can't hit what your eyes can't see"; "It's hard to be humble when you're as great as I am"; and of course, the classic "I am The Greatest!"

Muhammad Ali would be greatly missed. He was 74.
