Atiku’s petition is a mere waste of time - INEC
INEC, represented by its lawyer, Yunsu Usman (SAN), prayed the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) to dismiss the petition by Atiku and the opposition party.
In his submission, Usman debunked claims that INEC operated a so-called server through which it transmitted results electronically and that it shunned pleadings by not calling any witnesses, adding that the petitions are a waste of time, since they cannot be substantiated, The Nation reports. Usman said: “This is a worthless petition. INEC did not abandon its pleadings. It only extracted salient evidence from their (petitioners) witnesses. It would have been a waste of the court’s time to call witnesses when the petitioners failed to prove anything and admitted the issues we advanced in our pleadings. we urge the court to dismiss this petition which was meant to test the water with two legs but now they are failing exceedingly.
