NASS postpones resumption to Sept. 20

The Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr M A Sani-Omolari, has announced a shift in the resumption date of members of the Senate and House of Representatives to Tuesday September 20, 2016.
Recall that the two chambers had earlier adjourned their seven weeks annual recess to Tuesday September 13, 2016, respectively.
A statement signed by NASS Clerk, states in part: "This is to inform all distinguished Senators and Honourable members of the National Assembly of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that the resumption date of both Houses in plenary has been rescheduled from Tuesday, September 13 2016 to Tuesday, September 20.
Meanwhile, reason for the extension of the long recess was not stated but there are insinuations in some quarters that the extension may not be unconnected with the yet to be announced Muslim festival.
