Sequel to the peace meeting held between the 2 key political players in Rivers State ahead of the state re-run elections, the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has said that he will implement all resolutions reached.
The meeting took place in Abuja between the Governor and his predecessor, the present Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, under the watch of the Police and the Department of State Security, DSS.
Speaking during a PDP senatorial campaign which held on Wednesday in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers state, Wike said that he participated actively in the peace parley because of his desire for enduring peace in the state.
According to the Governor, those who sought crises in Rivers State will be disappointed, as he assured indigenes that the State Government will continue to partner with security agencies to promote peace in the state.
He said: "I was at the peace meeting because we love peace and want the state to move forward. I signed an undertaking on your behalf that we are prepared for INEC's credible, free and fair elections.
"It is not in our interest to have a crisis because we will be the losers."
