Following the intervention of Senate President Bukola Saraki, there were strong indications emerging from the Senate on Wednesday, that a reconciliation was under way between the Chairman, Senate Committee on Women Affairs, Senator Oluremi Tinubu (APC, Lagos Central) and her colleague, Senator Dino Melaye (APC, Kogi West).
According to reports, in a bid to bring to an end the lingering feud between the APC Senators, Saraki met with both of them separately for two hours each.
The meetings took place in Saraki's new Senate wing office, with the Senate President meeting with Tinubu first, before Melaye.
The Senate President reportedly prevailed on both Senators to sheath their swords and stop the war of words; urging them to put into consideration their individual integrity, and the integrity of the Senate as well.
Senator Saraki also impressed upon them the need to put into consideration, the integrity of their party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.
According to sources, at the end of the meeting, both Senators Tinubu and Melaye agreed to put the problem behind them, for the sake of national interest.
