Suspected militants attack Ogun Deputy Governor's convoy

 Daring militants terrorising communities in Ogun State yesterday blocked the state Deputy Governor, Yetunde Onanuga and the Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, during an on the spot assessment of attacks on Ogun communities.

The state team led by the Deputy Governor was in Ibafo Abute in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state to assess the level of the damage in the community where no fewer than 10 persons have been reportedly killed by the militants.

The team which included all the security chiefs had earlier visited five communities of Elepete, Magbon, IgboOlomu, Imuti in Imushin area of Ogijo in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state which have been sacked by the militants.

The security chiefs included the state Commissioner of Police, represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Bello Makwashi, Director, Directorate of State Security Service, Kabir Sanni and the Brigade Commander of 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Brigadier General Muhammed Danwalis.

The team was, however, prevented from assessing Ebute-Ojora when the militants started shooting from the creek, a development which forced the state team to retreat.
