Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) who confirmed the incident to Channels Television on Tuesday said those killed were included members of the civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) with several others injured during the attack.
According to NEMA's Zonal Coordinator, Bashir Garga, a male suicide bomber carried out the attack, hiding the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) between his thighs making it hard to detect.
He also noted that evacuation is ongoing.
