After his release from a prolonged detention in the custody of the Department of State Service (DSS), The former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki, has made his first appearance in court.
Dasuki was at the Federal High Court in Abuja to face his trial on charges of money laundering and illegal possession of firearms filed against him. During the trial, Malami was said to appear more confident and composed and even refused to take a seat when offered one by Justice Ahmed Mohammed before who he appeared before on Thursday, January 23, The Nation reports. During the hearing, the former NSA's lawyer, Olukayode Ariwoola, withdrew applications filed to the court in protest to his earlier prolonged detention, a move which was not objected to by the prosecution counsel, Dipo Okpeseyi. Following this Justice Ahmed Mohammed adjourned the case to Wednesday March 11 and Thursday March 12.
