Several feared killed as pipeline explosion rocks Gloryland Estate in Lagos

Residents of Gloryland Estate, Isheri Olofin, Lagos state, woke up on Thursday morning, December 5, to another tragic incident; a fire outbreak.
        The fire outbreak which was reportedly caused by a vandalised pipeline in the area sent people scampering for safety as several are feared killed, according to a report by Channels TV. Other reports indicate that relevant emergency agencies have been deployed to the area to contain the fire disaster. As noted in the tweet, the area has been affected by a series of pipeline explosions over the years which have led to the loss of lives and properties. Meanwhile this is happening barely 24 hours after a gas cylinder exploded at the Four Point By Sheraton Hotel, Oniru in Victoria Island, Lagos. The incident reportedly caused varying injuries to at least three people. The explosion occurred at about 12.35pm. Some artisans were doing welding job inside the hotel premises when the incident occurred. One of the cylinder hoses brought by the welders was reported to have leakage. This consequently triggered the explosion. Several vehicles in the premises, room windows and other items were shattered.
