IPPIS: There will be consequence if our members are enrolled - ASUU threatens
The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna)'s chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has sent a warning message to the officials of Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information (IPPIS) over the ongoing enrolment exercise for the civil servants.
The Nation reports that the union on Tuesday, December 3, organised a peaceful rally against the IPPIS enrolment, warning that none of its members should be enrolled by the scheme. Legit.ng gathered that the rally which included the ASUU chairman, Mohammed Attaihiru Ndanisa and some members of the union in the institution, was peacefully conducted as they walked around the school singing solidarity songs and declaring that IPPIS is a scam. According to the report, the members then went to the Senate boardroom where the enrolment was taking place to meet the IPPIS officials. It was reported that they met some non-academic staff doing their enrolment and went round to confirm that none of their staff was present. Ndanisa who addressed the IPPIS officials said they must not register any of their members as there would be consequences if they are registered. He said that ASUU is totally against the IPPIS enrolment, stating that they would not take it likely with any member that dare flaunt the order and go ahead to register in the program.
