The Lagos state high court has ordered the state House of Assembly to maintain status quo in the ongoing investigation of former governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

                The Nation reports that the presiding judge, Justice Yetunde Adesanya, gave the order on Wednesday, October 30, while ruling on an ex parte motion filed by Ambode through his counsel, Tayo Oyetibo (SAN). It was gathered that the court had on Tuesday, October 29, ordered Oyetibo to put the respondents on notice before hearing the ex parte application. According to the report, this was contrary to earlier reports that the court ordered respondents to appear in court Wednesday, October 30. The respondents include the speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, House clerk, A.A Sanni, chairman of the ad hoc committee set up by the House to probe the procurement, Fatai Mojeed and members of the committee. They are Gbolahan Yishawu, Bisi Yusuff, Yinka Ogundimu, Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, M.L Makinde, Kehinde Joseph, T.A Adewale and O.S Afinni. Meanwhile, It was previously reported that the court on Tuesday, October 29, ordered Obasa to appear before it in connection with the ongoing probe of Ambode. It was reported that the former governor is being probed by the lawmakers over the procurement of 820 buses by his administration. The former governor, however, noted that the buses were procured based on budgetary approval as part of the bus reform project of the state government which was designed to revolutionise public transportation in line with global best practices.
