Tension at Emirates as Arsenal players are divided over Emery’s treatment of Ozil and Pepe

Tension has reportedly gripped Arsenal's camp with squad players divided over Unai Emery’s handling of Mesut Ozil and Nicolas Pepe. Emery appears to be losing the dressing room just two days after his side squandered a two-goal advantage to draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace at Emirates Stadium. The encounter saw club captain Granit Xhaka clash with fans after his substitution, with the midfielder said to have mouthed obscenities during the ugly confrontation.
The incident is now understood to have laid bare cracks within the squad, with the UK Metro reporting a section of players are unhappy with treatment of Ozil and Pepe. However, unlike Ozil, Pepe who joined the Gunners in the summer has enjoyed significant minutes of game play. Ozil has been limited to just one Premier League appearance this season and failed to make match-day squads in the last six matches. The treatment of the pair has been subject of public debate, with reports filtering through in the UK contending it has begun to split the dressing room. Meanwhile, Arsenal's slump in recent weeks has seen them miss out on a glorious chance to break into the top four, with the side now sitting fifth behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
