Lauretta Onochie: IPPIS Will Expose Lecturers With Multiple Full Time Jobs

The Social Media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie has responded to the rejection of the Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System IPPIS by the Academic Staff Union of University ASUU. Lauretta Onochie in her statement stated that every lecturer should be committed to one University that pays their salaries per month.
She wrote: A University Lecturer should be committed to one Institution that pays him monthly. He can support another university on a small scale as a consultant. Working full time in many universities at a time, is the reason they churn out graduates with no skills. There’s no commitment. The reason ASUU is fighting the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) is that many Lecturers dash from one university to another as full time Lecturers. The IPPIS will expose those with multiple full time jobs.
There has being a lingering battle between the FG and ASUU, Over the implementation of the Integrated payroll and personal information in Nigerian universities. According to ASUU the system is not compatible with the Nigerian university system, as it would not be able to fit in with the "Alleged peculiarities" of the university system as disclosed by an ASUU official. They rather asked the federal government to give room for consultation with ASUU on how to integrate university lecturers into the system.
