Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, says the federal government will appeal the latest ruling by the British commercial court over the Process and Industrial Development Limited (P&ID) saga.
The court had in its ruling granted a stay of execution of the $9.6bn award given to P&ID but ordered Nigeria to pay a security deposit of $200m to make the ruling effective, Daily Trust reports. The ruling saved Nigeria's assets from being seized by P&ID. However, Mohammed said the federal government would appeal the payment of $200m. He, however, hailed the court ruling. He also noted P&ID would have started the process of seizing Nigeria's assets if not for the ruling.
