Commercial bus plunges into Ogun river, 10 people feared dead

At least 10 persons are feared dead after a commercial Sienna vehicle plunged into Ososa River on the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode-Benin Expressway in the Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State yesterday Wednesday October 2nd.
        According to reports, the bus loaded its passengers from Sagamu and was heading to Ijebu Ode when the tragic incident occurred. The tyre of the vehicle bursted while the driver was on top speed. He lost control and sadly, veered into the river. Confirming the incident, the Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe, said the unfortunate incident occured when the driver tried overtaking another road user. The crash occurred when the driver of the bus attempted to overtake another vehicle on the bridge and unfortunately lost control suspected to have been caused by tyre burst and the bus thereafter flipped into River Ososa.” Okpe said. This incident comes few days after a staff of Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu Ijebu died when his vehicle plunged into the same river.
