Armed bandits reportedly attack Niger village

Armed bandits numbering about 200 have reportedly taken over Kokoki village in Shiroro local government area of Niger state. Channels TV reports that this was confirmed by the Niger state Emergency Management Agency on Tuesday, September 10.
         Ahmed Inga who is the director-general of the agency reportedly confirmed the attack saying the gunmen attacked the community on Monday, September 9. According to the director-general, the attackers beat some of the victims till they became unconscious. The NSEMA boss said “the bandits are ransacking each house in the village, dispossessing the people of their belongings including food, clothing materials, cellphones, while also rustling their cattle.    Inga who says although no casualty has been reported yet, more than 300 villagers have fled their villages. He said some of them are currently taking shelter in a School at Kagara in Rafi local government area of the state. The bandits have reportedly been ransacking the villages for food.
