We don't want to die young - Lagos NURTW rejects MC Olu Omo as head of caretaker
The emergence of Musiliu Akinsanya also known as MC Olu Omo as the chairman of the caretaker committee of the union in Lagos has been rejected by some members of the group.
Members of the union who were at odds with MC Olu Omo's new position took their grievance to the Lagos state House of Assembly, saying that the development will cause chaos in the state chapter, The Nation reports. Having dissolved the former executive committee of the state chapter of the union, NURTW's national president, Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa, on Wednesday, September 4, appointed MC Olu-Omo as the caretaker committee chairman of a new set up. One of the protesters, who is the chairman of Ojuwoye branch of the uinon, Ademola Olanrewaju, said that MC Olu Omo's appointment is an imposition on the NURTW in Lagos. Olanrewaju said: “Directly or indirectly, they are trying to impose him on us because there was fracas in Abuja and both parties were supposed to be dealt with but only MC’s group was exonerated. What we are agitating for is that we don’t want MC’s government in Lagos state, We don’t want to die young. Lagos state has been able to give us the little they can in terms of empowerment by giving us what to eat and we don’t want MC to kill us.
