We are waiting for directive to verify Makinde’s N48b assets - Oyo CBB boss
Following Governor Seyi Makinde's declaration of N48bn asset, the director of code of conduct bureau in Oyo state, Moses Atolagbe, has said that he was waiting for directive from the agency's head office to verify the governor's assets.
According to Atolagbe, there were few people in the previous administration in the state who did not to comply with asset declaration. Atolagbe said: We have a few people that have not complied with the position of the law. They are very few in number, some of them are out of the country and others based it on health ground. “They have got in touch with the bureau and one of them showed up on Monday. We will just give them a little ample opportunity. When they don’t comply they would be prosecuted. “We have done that before; a former commissioner Oyo State in time past had been prosecuted for failure to comply. According to Atolagbe, some newly appointed public office holders have picked up their asset declaration forms, but some have not return them yet. The governor who visited the state office of the code of conduct bureau in Ibadan to receive a copy of the asset declaration form, said that his decision to make the assets public was in fulfillment of a personal promise he made during the elections.
