How we arrested telecom engineer for manufacturing rifles, dangerous weapons - Army.

            Two suspects, including a telecom engineer, have being arrested and paraded on crime bordering on alleged engagement in the production of illegal firearms in a small community between Taraba and Benue state. The arrested suspects, Engr. Cephas Ati and Mzunga Tseyina, were nabbed by the troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) in Benue on Monday, April 1, 2019. Speaking on the arrest, OPWS commander, Major General Adeyemi Yekini, revealed that the operation was sequel to the shreds of information received by the troop about the suspects' involvement in production of illegal weapons. He added that they were nabbed on March 24 in Anyin. Legit.ng gathers that the suspects were arrested with an AK 47 rifle and several arms in different stages of completion.
            One of the suspects, Ati, said he was a qualified telecommunication engineer residing in Wukari community of Taraba state. He further added that he was arrested while going to Anyin village to deliver a simple rifle which a friend ordered for self defence, and to check his farm. He said: “I had difficulties starting life all over again from scratch. Since I had ideas of arms manufacturing, having learnt it for five years in Mauritania, I decided to get involved in the business to raise money that would enable me go back to Europe.'' Ati also disclosed that he sold at least 16 rifles to his customers for between N300,000 and N350,000. He also made confession that pistols were sold for N50,000 each.
