BREAKING: Senator Melaye arrested by Immigration officials at Abuja airport

Kogi senator, Dino Melaye has been arrested by officers from the Nigeria Immigration Service at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport Abuja on his way to Morocco.
Senator Melaye arrest on Monday, was as a result of him being declared wanted by the police following an accusations that he supplied arms to some murder suspects, who allegedly implicated him.
The senator denied the accusations, describing it as politically motivated. He also refused to report to the Force Headquarters in Kogi for questioning.
Melaye, announced his arrest on twitter, writing: "I have just been arrested at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport on my way to Morocco for an official engagement sponsored by the Federal Govt after checking in."
A spokesman of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mr Sunday James, confirmed the arrest of Sen. Dino Melaye, to News Agency of Nigeria, saying that Immigration officials acted "based on instruction".
Melaye and Mohammed Audu had been named by two suspects who were arrested, in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, on the 19th of January, as sponsors of thuggery in Kogi.
