- Twitter shuts down U.S. President Trump's personal account, restores it after 11 minutes.
- Claims it was done by a customer support employee on their last day.
- Raises security questions.
U.S. President Donald Trump's twitter account was deleted for about 11 minutes on Thursday according to reports from the social media company.
Twitter disclosed that the account was deleted by an employee who is preparing to leave the company.
"We have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer-support employee who did this on the employee's last day. We are conducting a full internal review," Twitter said in a tweet.
"We are continuing to investigate and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again," the company said in an earlier tweet.
A Twitter representative declined to comment further when questioned by journalists and The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
This singular issue has thrown more light into just how secure Twitter accounts are and what specific measures the social media company is taking to protect the official account of the U.S. President @POTUS.
