- Goodwill messages pour in from across the country.
After 105 days in Abuja house in London, President Muhammadu Buhari finally returns to Nigeria on the 19th of August 2017 and whilst the vast majority of Nigerians celebrate across the country, some are still in shock as this reality differs widely from speculations which had gone rampant across the country.
Before his arrival, a statement was provided by his media aide Femi Adesina indicating that he would be returning later on Saturday. See the brief statement from Adesina below:
"President Muhammadu Buhari returns to the country later today, after receiving medical attention in London.
"The President had left the country on May 7, this year, after handing over power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who has functioned as Acting President since then."
"President Buhari is expected to speak to Nigerians in a broadcast by 7 a.m on Monday, August 21, 2017.
"He thanks all Nigerians who have prayed ceaselessly for his recovery and well-being since the beginning of the health challenge."
