- Reps maintain their stance from 2016.
- Refuse to trade more words with Obasanjo.
In a statement released yesterday by its Chairman, Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Abdulrazak Namdas, the Nigerian House of Representatives has stated that it maintains its stance from 2016 that former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, is the father of modern day corruption in Nigeria.
These comments are a direct response to Obasanjo's recent remarks at a forum in Minna, Niger State where he stated that "constituency projects" is corruption. Constituency projects usually refers to allocations given to members of the House of Representatives to carry out and execute developmental projects in their respective communities.
In response, Namdas said "We won't respond to any corruption allegations by Obasanjo against us anymore.
"We have replied him enough and our position remains what we said earlier. It has not changed.
"I refer you to our comprehensive position on Obasanjo in 2016. That is still our position."
