Hillary Clinton secures the Democratic nomination for President

Former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, made history on Tuesday night, when she secured the Democratic Party's 2016 nomination for the White House, becoming the first woman in the history of the United States to head the ticket of a major party.
At a state-by-state roll call during the ongoing Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, delegates from South Dakota gave Clinton 15 votes, ensuring that she had more than the 2,383 votes needed to win the nomination.
After a tough battle with Democratic rival, Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Clinton now becomes the party's standard-bearer against Republican Nominee, Donald Trump, in the November 8 election.
