Plateau State Governor imposes curfew on community as Fulani herdsmen murder traditional ruler and his aides

Suspected fulani herdsmen on Monday murdered a first class traditional ruler in Plateau State, the Saf Ron Kulere, Sir Lazarus Agai, who is also the Chairman of Bokkos Traditional Council.
Agai, was the traditional ruler of Bokkos, which is the hometown of the former Plateau State Governor, Joshua Dariye, was murdered, in his home village of Sha.
He was killed by the herdsmen alongside his driver and police orderly, as they made their way back from Agai's farm in Sha.
Confirming the unfortunate incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Tyopev Terna, stated that no suspects had yet been apprehended in connection with the murders.
Meanwhile, a curfew has now been declared in Bokkos by the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong.
The Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Nanle, on Monday, released a statement which read: "The incidence took place at about 3pm yesterday (Monday) while the chief was on transit from a neighbouring village.
"The Governor has therefore summoned an emergency meeting of security agencies tomorrow (Tuesday) so as to come up with strategies to prevent reprisals from aggrieved groups.
"To avert any breakdown of law and order, the Government has decided to impose a curfew on the area."
