FG online employment portal records over 400,000 registrations within 36hours

It was revealed by the Presidency, yesterday, that the newly launched Federal Government jobs portal for unemployed youths, "N-Power.gov.ng," has recorded over 400,000 successful registrations within 36 hours.
But in the midst of celebrations at the Presidential villa over this discovery, there was also an air of puerile feelings that the celebration was misplaced as it would mean celebrating unemployment which should ordinarily put the seat of power on a sober mood.
The portal was opened for online applications from unemployed Nigerians- graduates and non-graduates alike- on Sunday, June 12, 2016.
Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Job Creation, Mr. Afolabi Imoukhuede, who works in the office of Vice President, Yemi Osinabjo, was quoted in a statement as saying 403,528 applications had been received as at yesterday afternoon.
"We have been impressed by the enthusiastic response to the call for applications. As at noon on Monday, June 13, only 36 hours after the launch of the portal, 403, 528 applicants had successfully registered on the site and were in the middle of completing the application process."
