Obiano vows to offset hospital bills of Biafra victims

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has hinted of the compilation of the names of injured members of the Movement of the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) during the celebration of Biafra Day on May 30, 2016.
The governor therefore urged calm over the crisis that rocked Nkpor community during the event and pledged to offset the hospital bills of some injured Biafra agitators during the event to mark the 49th anniversary of declaration of Biafra Nation.
Obiano made the pledge at Nkpor Town Hall where sympathised with the community on the bloody clash between security agents and the Biafran agitators where several people were killed and scores injured.
According to Obiano, "we have compiled the list of the injured in the different hospitals" and urged the Nkpor people to always ward off undesirable elements from the area.
He said: "I came to sympathise with you for what happened. Before I came in as governor, people were not sleeping with their eyes closed but now they do. You should not allow strangers to disturb Nkpor."
The governor recalled how he used diplomacy to evacuate Boko Haram terrorists brought into Ekwulobia Prisons by the Federal Government and also gave befitting burial to Biafra war heroes.
