Goodluck Jonathan arrives back in Nigeria

Nigeria's Former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan arrived back into the country from Cote D'Ivoire yesterday. The ex-President landed at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers state, where he was welcomed by friends and well-wishers, before departing for his hometown, Otuoke.

Jonathan flew back to Nigeria, after spending several weeks abroad on a multi-city speaking tour in the United Kingdom, United States of America, Côte d'Ivoire, amongst others.

There were allegations in the media recently, that he had fled to Cote D'Ivoire to avoid answering to corruption charges back at home; but Jonathan had dismissed these claims, stating that he was only on a global tour, and not running away from the long arms of the EFCC.
