NASS fixes March 17 to pass 2016 budget

The joint Senate and House of Representatives committees on Appropriation has declared that the 2016 Appropriation Bill would be presented to the floor of both chambers on March 16, 2016, while consideration and final passage of the Bill would be done on March 17, 2016.
In a joint press briefing on Wednesday, March 2, the Chairmen of the Senate and House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Senator Danjuma Goje and Hon. Jibrin Abdulmumin said reports from both chambers would be laid on Wednesday, March 16.
He said: "The various subcommittees of both chambers have submitted their reports from MDAs. We are working very hard to tidy up the report for presentation to the two chambers of the National Assembly within the shortest time frame."
He noted that having collected the submissions of the various sub-committees, the Appropriation committee would not only harmonise the reports but engage on consultations with Minister of Finance and Director General Budget office.
