Kenya Stowaway Falls Off KQ Flight From Nairobi To London
On Sunday, the body of a Kenya's Stowaway fell of a Kenya Airline which was headed for London. The dead body fell off the plane while it was about to land in Heathrow Airport, London. The KQ Flight 100 was travelling to London from Kenya.
The statement released by KQ on Monday was that the Airline was informed by the London’s Metropolitan Police of a Dead Body which fell off the Plane's Landing Gear moments before it landed. On June 30th at approximately 1541hours (UK time), a body of a yet to be identified male stowaway landed in a garden in the Borough of Lambeth, South London, suggesting that the stowaway was hidden in the undercarriage of the aircraft. The owner called the police who tracked the flight radar to KQ Flight 100, the statement said.
NO IDENTIFICATION
After the dead body was discovered, the airline tried to match it to an Identity and also searched it but found no Identification to trace the dead body back to wherever he came from. When the Plane was Inspected, a bag with Clothes and Food was found at the rear left landing gear. The incident has been treated as sudden death and is now a police matter,” the statement further said. The Police in London has reached out to the Kenyan high commission to help identify the dead man. The Flight from Nairobi to London lasted for about 9 Hours, according to Kenya Airways. The Airline assures the public that it's working closing with authorities and law enforcement agencies in Both London and Kenya in investigating the matter. At the same time, the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) assured the public via a Twitter post that a Join-Investigative team has been assigned to investigate the incident. The statement reads "We wish to reiterate that safety and security is a priority at our airports and this incident is being treated with the seriousness it deserves, A similar incident occurred in 2013 when a body was found dead in a KQ flight from Bombay in India to Nairobi in Kenya. The passenger was suspected to have secretly boarded the Aircraft.
