Unknown gunmen earlier today assassinated a former local government caretaker committee chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The deceased was killed in the early hours of today about 3am while returning from a church programme at his hometown, Ilutuntun. His remains has been deposited at the Okitipupa general hospital.
Meanwhile the police say they have launched a full scale investigation into the murder.
