Former Minister of State for Defence and one-time Nigerian Ambassador to Ghana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro on Saturday May 14th graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia with a Bachelors Degree in History.
A statement released by his media office says that Obanikoro's graduation was the result of months of hardwork in academics and proof of his belief that leadership in Nigeria would be better positioned with leaders who continually renew their minds with diligent study.
"Obanikoro's Bachelors in History is his third academic degree in addition to his Bachelors and Masters in Public Administration and a sign that politics should not be a quest for dullards."
Of its History course, Oglethorpe University says "Here at Oglethorpe, history students don't just absorb knowledge of historical figures and events, or memorise names and dates. They go further into analysing historical moments for their greater significance, exploring their connections to past, present and future; challenging dominant narratives and uncovering hidden causes and implications".
Obanikoro encourages both young and older people to devote themselves to study, especially of History as those who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat its mistakes especially when presented in a shroud of change.
On the alleged EFCC investigation, Obanikoro's media team says that they are not aware of any invitation or investigation of Senator Musiliu Obanikoro till date, other than rumours carried by junk media organisations.
