The Highly anticipated Game of Thrones Season Seven which aired on Sunday night surely didn't go unnoticed.

According to Nielsen, the 79 minutes episode recorded a record breaking 12.1 million viewers on Sunday night.

According to HBO, the show's finale recorded a total of 16.5 million views across the HBO Go platform and the HBO Now app combined.

Although Game of Thrones has been considered HBO's most popular show for a while now, it just keeps getting larger than expected.

Last year's Season Six's finale recorded an amazing 8.9 million views, meaning the final episode alone this year recorded a 36% growth.

When you take the delayed viewing into consideration, HBO reports that each episode from Season 7 has gone on to receive at least 30 million views after initially airing. This is at least 8 million more views compared to last year.

Due to the production schedule, season eight may not be released until 2019.

For a company that experienced some shaky moments especially through hacks and leaks, things are definitely looking rosy for now and the future.
