A 27-year old, Musbau Adefalu, arrested for allegedly sleeping with an 11-year old girl in Lagos, has confessed that he enjoyed sex more with young girls than mature women and he had seriously tampered with their private parts.
        The suspect also insisted that he did not know that it was an offence to sleep with under aged girls which had handed him in trouble. The alleged rape took place at Omisesan Street, Moshalasi in Alagbado area of Lagos where they reside. It was gathered that Musbau returned from work, lured the young victim into his apartment and allegedly engaged her in the sex romp. He warned the victim never to tell anybody about what happened and allowed her to go. However, the matter got exposed when their neighbours, who suspected her movement, confronted the young girl and she opened up. The matter was reported to the Police at Alagbado Division; the suspect was arrested and detained at the police station for interrogation. When the suspect was asked why he had to defile a minor, he replied that he preferred young girls and did not know it was offence until he was arrested.
        The police found him culpable and charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement which attracts several years of imprisonment. His plea was not taken after the prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice because the victim was a minor. The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O Osunsanmi, ordered Musbau to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail. The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice. The matter was adjourned till 21st August, 2019, for the report of the DPP to be ready. The defendant may be transferred to High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for the alleged offence.
