Robbers Write, Demand Money From Popular Socialite, Flees Banana Island Home

A female socialite, Mrs. Angela Adelagun, has reportedly temporarily gone into hiding after some bandits allegedly wrote to her and demanded an undisclosed amount of money in exchange for her life.
According to reports Adelagun was terribly afraid and had to abandon her palatial home located at Living Gold Estate on Banana Island, Lagos, to an unknown place since she reportedly received the threat message from the robbers. They reportedly wrote informing her that her time was up as they will kill her anytime from 9th March, 2019. The bandits were said to have told her to part with an undisclosed amount of money within a particular period of time if wanted to remain alive. The woman, on getting their message, was said to have fled from her home but reported the matter to the operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS, who swung into action, trailed the suspects and eventually arrested three of them. The suspected robbers arrested were Uche Eze, 24, Emmanuel Amaechi, 24 and Michael Ogonnamabu, 20. After thorough interrogation and investigation, the SARS operatives found them culpable. They were later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and threat to life by sending written message to Adelagun in order to extort money from her. They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Peter Nwaogwugwu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing for police to prove the matter. Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Y.O. Aje-Afunwa, granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 4th August, 2019.
