I don't blame anyone for our defeat- Mourinho
It had been customary of Jose Mourinho, the Chelsea Football Club coach to blame his players each time they are defeated on field of play, but the defiant Jose Mourinho refused to blame his players after Chelsea’s worst start to a Premier League season since 1988 was compounded by a 3-1 defeat by Everton at Goodison Park. The club had experience up to 3 defeats this season and this is the worst among them.
Many never believed it would end up this way considering Mourinho's consistent blowing of his own whistle as the "Special One". After their first two defeats, many thought they would bounce back and put smiles on the faces of their fans again like they did last season, but all their fans could see was more defeat and to a lowly rated side like Everton, a team many football analysts have put down as no do-gooder for this season.
Substitute Steven Naismith came on to score a perfect hat-trick – prompting Toffees supporters to chant ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’ in the direction of the Portuguese, who has endured his worst start to any league in his career. This further set the mood for the aggravation experienced by Mourinho right on the field of play. Many post match a analysts insisted that Mourinho did not have a clear idea of what to do. They claimed he was totally confused, especially after the first two goals against his side.
While the under pressure coach insists he is not happy with results, he will not blame his players. He told sports writers: ‘I am champion, the players are the champions, the way they are playing is not as bad as the results but in every single game things are going against us. We have to cope with it, football is about results. It’s easy to say and I agree completely, but results are too bad. I don’t blame my players and I don’t blame myself. I don’t accept the results, I am responsible for the team, I am not happy with the situation and I am not happy with myself.
‘I am with the players, I cannot be against them, I cannot have a bad feeling with them, that’s what makes me happy. I am happy that tomorrow I have to face them again and train with them and prepare them for the next game.
Chelsea football club presently occupies the 16th position on the Barkley's Premier League table. They have 4 points from 5 matches; the four points are from a possible total points of 15. The club had only managed one win and one draw this season. Some analysts are of the opinion that the coach should be sacked if the team is to move up the ladder of the league table, stressing that Mourinho rarely succeeds more than two seasons at the top spot of any league around the world. Some others believe things can still get better for the team, since the league is just beginning.
