Fake Prophet Arrested for Sex Under False Pretence
One Muyiwa Adesoye, a self-acclaimed prophet, who allegedly deceived a 17-year-old auxiliary nurse in order to have sex with her, has been arrested and charged before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos state. According to reports, Adesoye prophesied to the victim (names withheld) that she had a spiritual husband who usually had sex with her in the night. He told the victim that the only way to set her free is if he had sex with her. He claimed the spiritual husband would leave her alone afterwards, since a 'holy man' has already had sex with her.
The Ondo-state born ‘prophet’ had also told his victim that her progress was hindered by her spiritual husband, hence, she needed to be delivered through prayers so that her future will be brighter, adding that such prayer and deliverance involved him having sex with her in order to anoint her private part to prevent the spiritual husband from coming back and to ensure she starts experiencing progress in all ramifications of life.
Adesoye, who resides at 35, Adedayo Street, Abaranje in Ikotun area of the state, informed her that she would pay him N25, 000 for him to embark on the prayer and warned her to do so to avoid further threat to her future by her spirit husband. The victim accepted and allegedly paid the money. She reportedly gave him her two phones and a gift aside the money she paid for the deliverance.
As the story goes, Adesoye took the young nurse to a hotel located at Abule Odu in Egbeda area, had sex with her several times and gave her soap to bath with every day, as according to him, the soap was sanctified and it will work together with the new anointing she had received to ward off evil spirit and prevent her spirit husband from coming back for her.
The victim, who claimed she was introduced to Adesoye by her friend, realized she had been swindled and told her parents what happened before the matter was reported to the police at Area ‘M’ Command, Idimu. The victim took the police and her parents to the prophet's church and he was arrested and charged to court with obtaining sex, unlawful carnal knowledge under false pretense and stealing under the Criminal Code. He however, pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs J. O. E. Adeyemi, granted him bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum, ordering that one of the sureties must be a land owner and show affidavit of earnings. Adesoye was reportedly remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri pending when he will perfect his bail condition. Adeyemi adjourned the mater till 21 September, 2015.
The 'prophet' was said to have been involved in things like this for long. Residents residing close to his church claimed he is known to swindle people of their belongings with the claim they are being pursued from the spirit realm. They also claimed most of his victims had been women.
