Amotekun aimed at flushing out tribe from southwest -Miyetti Allah
The leadership of the Miyetti Allah has given reasons for being against the security outfit - Amotekun - recently launched in the southwest.
Reacting to the launch of the outfit, the president of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore in Bauchi state, Sadiq Ahmed, alleged that the aim of forming the security outfit was to flush out the Fulani tribe from the southwest region. Vanguard reports that Ahmed said Amotekun also lacked the legal framework needed for it to operate as a security outfit in Nigeria. He said while it cannot be denied that Nigeria is facing various security challenges, what is actually needed in the country is a restructuring of the security architecture in the nation. He also said that the newly launched security outfit will not last because there is no constitution backing its establishment. Ahmed said: ‘’Is there a doubt anywhere that the motive behind the establishment of Amotekun is to cleanse our tribe from the Southwest? It is the responsibility of the Federal Government to provide security, any parallel security outfit is illegal and unacceptable.” He further called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the service chiefs immediately as they have done nothing despite trillions of funds the institutions received in recent years. Ahmed said: "I hear people every time try to compare Amotekun to Hizba, and that irritates me." "Hizba security outfit in the North is just an umbrella of an Islamic body only meant for Islamic affairs. It bears no resemblance to Amotekun or the motive behind its formation,” he said.
