Manchester United have confirmed that second choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero was involved in a car accident near training ground at Carrington. But it has been confirmed that there were no injuries when the Argentine shot-stopper crashed his £170,000 Lamborghini under a roadside barrier. The 32-year-old was a substitute during Red Devils' 2-0 loss to bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, January 19, 2020. Romero was in goal for United in their midweek victory over Wolves in a 4th Round FA Cup replay at Old Trafford. He made a summer move from Sampdoria in 2015 and signed a three-year deal at Old Trafford but has been regarded as second choice behind David De Gea. Romero remains Argentine's number one goalkeeper and was in between the stick for his country at the 2014 World Cup finals, losing to eventual champions Germany. He also kept his number one spot throughout when Manchester United won the Europa League in 2017 under Jose Mourinho.
