Trump calls Canadian prime minister Trudeau 'two-faced'
President Donald Trump of US has referred to the Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau as a 'two-faced' person over a viral video that captured moments in a meeting of NATO leaders held at Buckingham Palace. The said video showed Trudeau having a brief chat with UK leader, Boris Johnson, French president, Emmanuel Macron, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, and Princess Anne, Queen Elizabeth's daughter, BBC reports.
In the video, Johnson wanted to know why Macron was late for the NATO meeting, interjecting, Trudeau said: "He was late because he takes a 40-minute press conference off the top." The footage also revealed the Canadian leader speaking of Trump: "Oh yeah, yeah, he announced... [inaudible]. You just watched his team's jaw drop to the floor." In reaction to this, Trump said: "He's two-faced... I find him to be a nice guy, but the truth is I called him out on the fact that he's not paying 2% (of national GDP towards defence) and I guess he's not very happy about it. Spend less on the Internet! However, Trudeau, when asked about his comments, said that he and the rest were not discussing about Trump but the venue of the next G7 summit which is Camp David, the country retreat of US heads of state. Trudeau added that he has a good relationship with Trump.
