African leader invites Ibrahim Magu to fight corruption in his country
President Alpha Conde of Guinea has commended the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, for responding to his invitation to help reform the anti-corruption agency in the country.
The EFCC disclosed on Sunday, December 1, that the Guinean president in a letter dated November 28, 2019, sent through the ambassador of Guinea in Nigeria, Siaka Cissok, commended Magu for his anti-corruption fight. President Alpha Conde also expressed the hope of having further collaborations with the EFCC boss in tackling corruption in Guinea. Meanwhile Itse Sagay the chairman of The Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), has asked the senate to confirm Mr Ibrahim Magu as the substantive chairman of the EFCC due to his diligence and success thus far recorded in the fight against corruption since he took over as acting chairman of the commission, He made this request when he met with the senate president Ahmed Lawan some few weeks back.
