Nigeria Suffer 3rd Straight Disappointing Defeat To Brazil At The 2019 FIFA Beach World Cup
Nigeria's beach soccer team suffered their third straight defeat at the ongoing Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay. Having lost their first two group games, the Sand Eagles had already lost hope of progressing to the knockout stage of the competition.
They completed their hat-trick of defeat after losing scandalously to former world champions Brazil in their final group game. Nigeria suffered a 12-2 defeat to the south American team as they finish at the bottom of the table with zero points at the end of the group stage. A goal each from Abu Azeez and Egan-Osi Ekujumi ended up a mere consolation for the players as they could not rescue their players from a disappointing defeat. While Oman and Nigeria have been dumped out of the championship as they will hope to start preparations early for the next edition. Another African contingent Senegal progressed to semifinals of the tourney after finishing atop of Group C with six points. They won two of their group games while one ended in defeat - same as Russia who finished runners up with the same number of points. Belarus and United Arab Emirates crash out at the group stage having only amassed three points each after three group games.
#ICYMI : While we slept, the Super Sand Eagles were pummeled 12-2 by Brazil in their last group game of the ongoing #FIFA beach soccer world cup in Asunción, Paraguay.
