Kogi election : INEC fixes November 30 for supplementary election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Saturday, November 30, as the date for the conduct of the supplementary election in the Kogi West senatorial district.
The electoral commission in a statement on Twitter said it arrived at the decision after a meeting held on Thursday, 21 November. “INEC met today 21st November 2019 and fixed 30th Nov 2019 for the conduct of Supplementary and re-run elections for Kogi West Senatorial District and Ajaokuta Federal Constituency respectively,” the statement from the commissions read. The new date for the re-run poll in Kogi west senatorial district comes after INEC declared the November 16 re-run poll in the senatorial district inconclusive. While Senator Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has 80,118, Senator Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 59,548, a winner has yet to be declared. Meanwhile it was reported yesterday by Obiaksnews that, Senator Dino Malaye stormed the INEC headquarters in Abuja to submit a petion against the November 16th election, It was also reported that Dino Malaye also submitted 21 copies of CD evidence containing videos of electoral malpractice across centres where elections took place.
