Police arrest couple who bought two kids for N140 thousand
The police have arrested a couple for child trafficking in Lagos. Chukwunoso Happiness and his wife, Chukwunonso Blessing were arrested for buying two kids Joshua James, 6 and Samuel Gbawune, 3 for N140,000, The Nation reports.
The wife was arrested on Thursday, October 31 around 10:30pm following a tip off with the kids along Alaba International Market. The husband was also arrested the next day. When the police interrogated her, she said she was taking the kids to Anambra state. She reportedly said the boys were adopted by her 40-year-old husband from a Motherless Baby home in Jos, Plateau state and brought to Lagos. Meanwhile after interrogation, she was said to have confessed to the police that her husband bought the kids for N140,000 from Mama Oyoo in Jos Township.
