The only surviving wife of Nigeria's first prime minister, late Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Hajiya Jummai Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, is reportedly dead.

            According to reports, she was recently discharged from an Indian hospital after she went to seek medical attention for her heart disease. The late Hajiya Jummai reportedly died in Lagos in the early hours of Sunday, October 27. Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, granddaughter of the late Balewa was said to have confirmed the development. According to her grand daughter, Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, She died of cardiac arrest , She disclosed that the deceased had made a brief stop in Lagos to rest a little after her journey back from India before returning to back to Bauchi, But she died in the early hours of Sunday morning shortly after going into a coma.
