Super Eagles delegation storm Singapore in batches for Brazil friendly
The delegation led by Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr includes Spain-based trio of Samuel Chukwueze, Chidozie Awaziem and Ramon Azeez. Other players expected to storm Eagles’ camp today are Joe Eribo, who netted in his debut game against Ukraine last month, newly invited Viv Solomon- Otabor and Tyronne Ebuchi- another Eagles returnee in place of injured Kenneth Omeruo.
Ahead of the grade A friendly, the Eagles will be quartered at the five-star Fairmount hotel in Singapore. The facility is about 20 minutes from the Singapore Changi Airport which is located at the heart of the lion city. Easily accessible to the Singapore National Stadium, it takes about five minutes by bus, and 15 minutes through subway from Eagles’ star Fairmount hotel.Meanwhile, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and other backroom staff are now expected to fly out to Singapore aboard Emirates today, Wednesday, October 9, with assurances from the embassy that they will be handed entry visas ahead of the friendly. It was earlier reported that Brazil opted to play Nigeria and senegal in a friendly because of their physicality. Team coordinator, Juninho Paulista, explained the choice of two top football-playing countries from West Africa. It was the wish of the Technical Commission, so we went after these opponents,” he said. We chose two of the best African teams because they are high-level confrontations and against a school that the Brazilian National Team has had few encounters in recent years.
