AFCON 2019: Know when Nigeria will play their group matches
AFCON 2019 tournament is set to begin in Egypt in a few days time, The Super Eagles will take on Burundi, Guinea, Madagascar in Group B. Nigeria will be aiming for their fourth title after missing out in the last two editions.
AFCON 2019 will get underway on Friday, June 21, as the biggest footballing event in Africa will hold in Egypt. After missing two consecutive tournaments, the Super Eagles are set to go for glory at the soccer fiesta in a few days time. Nigeria last participated in the 2013 edition in South Africa and won the competition for the third time in their history under the tutelage of Stephen Keshi. This time around, German tactician Gernot Rohr, will be leading the green and white flag as one of the favourites to win the tournament. Nigeria have been drawn in Group B with other African nations comprising Burundi, Guinea and Madagascar and all matches will be played in Alexandria Stadium. The three-time African champions' opening fixture will come up against Burundi, followed by Guinea before wrapping up with Madagascar. The West African nation are highly favoured to top the group having players scattered around the nook and cranny of Europe.
