Solskjaer tells Woodward four players Man Utd must sign by July 1
Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is targeting four new arrivals by the start of July, the UK Sun reports. Solskjaer is ready to revamp his squad this summer, with older players like Alexis Sanchez up for sale, while Ander Herrera has left on a free transfer and Juan Mata will follow suit.
The Norwegian is believed to be looking to inject more young, homegrown talent into his squad. Moves for Swansea City winger Daniel James and Newcastle United midfielder, Sean Longstaff, have been widely reported, but Solskjaer is also looking at two players who thrived in the Championship last season. Versatile Norwich City youngster, Ben Godfrey, helped the side earn promotion, while Stoke City’s teenage defender Nathan Collins is also wanted by United. Solskjaer is eager to have all four players signed quickly and he has made it clear to Ed Woodward, that he wants the bulk of United’s business done by July 1, in time for the club’s pre-season tour.
