Champions League: What Virgil van Dijk said after Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat to Barcelona
Liverpool defender, Virgil van Dijk has disclosed that Jurgen Klopp’s men will not be depressed if they finish without a trophy this season. Van Dijk said this following Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final first leg encounter on Wednesday night.
Lionel Messi scored two goals in the second half after Luis Suarez had opened scoring in the first half to give Ernesto Valverde’s side all three points against the Reds. When asked about the prospect of finishing the season without a trophy after Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat to Barcelona on Wednesday, Van Dijk told DAZN: We’re not going to think about that. We’re having a good season and we will try to win something and, if not, we keep working. We can be proud of ourselves, we’re playing against one of the best teams in the world and obviously in the league, we’re playing also against one of the best teams in the world. We’re in both races and I think many, many teams would love to be in our position.
