There may be a major set back in the passage of the 2019 budget as budget minister, Udoma Udoma, top MDAs failed to appear at the public hearing organized by joint House committee on appropriation, finance, aids, debts, others. It was gathered that at the hearing organised by the committee ahead of 2019 budget passage, apart from Udo Udoma, minister of finance, Aisha Ahmad, group managing director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Maikanti Barau, and host of others also refused to appear. Expressing sadness over the development, the chairman of the joint committee and chairman, House committee of Finance, Babangida Ibrahim, said the MDAs' absence means the the passage of the budget will be delayed.
